What is creole carribean?

Creole-Caribbean cuisine is a vibrant fusion of bold, soulful flavors that celebrate the meeting of Southern roots and island culture. It’s food born from tradition, history, and spice—where every bite carries warmth, depth, and a little fire.

At The Crooked Boot, every dish tells a story. From our signature Vodou Sauce that packs a punch, to the zesty crunch of pikliz (a fiery Haitian slaw), to the comforting richness of yakamein—a savory New Orleans noodle soup known as “Old Sober”—our menu blends heritage and innovation in every plate.

It’s not just food; it’s an experience that awakens the senses, connects cultures, and feeds the soul.

  • what is vodou sauce?

A bold, addictive blend of seasonings and creaminess, where creole sauce is boss. It adds the perfect magic touch. Not just a condiment...a flavor spell you won't forget.
  • What is jerk seasoning?

An aromatic and fiery blend that captures the island's spirit in every bite. The perfect balance of heat, smoke, and an earthy spice.
  • what is pikliz?

This vibrant condiment is made from thinly sliced cabbage, carrots, onions, and Scotch bonnet peppers, all pickled in a citrusy vinegar brine that packs a bold, mouthwatering punch.
  • What is Yakamein?

A spicy & salty noodle soup typically made with beef, hard-boiled egg, green onions, and a rich, savory broth. A New Orleans street soup that blends Asian & Indigenous American culture.

our story

The Crooked Boot was founded in 2017 from a deep longing for authentic Louisiana Creole flavors and the nostalgia of home. After moving from Louisiana to St. Louis, our Chef CC quickly realized how much she missed the dishes she grew up with.

What began as casual “Fish Fry Fridays” with friends soon became something more. Her cooking spoke for itself—rich in flavor, rooted in tradition, and impossible to forget. Friends started lining up, not just to share a meal, but to pay for the soulful dishes she created.

From that small circle of friends to festivals, food truck service, and catering across two cities, The Crooked Boot has grown into a celebration of Louisiana Creole tradition enriched with Caribbean inspiration—bringing people together, one plate at a time.

At The Crooked Boot, we believe food should be: Made from scratch with fresh ingredients, rooted in heritage, yet open to fusion, served with hospitality and heart, a celebration of culture and community. Our promise is simple: to deliver bold flavors and unforgettable memories, one plate at a time.
